Alex San Martim Portes
Alex is an interdisciplinary researcher with expertise in various policy areas, including health, climate change, human rights, sustainability, and trade regulation. He has experience with mixed-methods approaches, combining qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to understand policy issues and decision-making processes.

Alex is interested in using his skills to advance systemic changes and promote better policy outcomes for a more equitable society. He is passionate about planetary health and understands that people’s well-being and environmental sustainability are mutually supportive.

Alex has previously worked as a consultant with the World Bank on a project on trade and climate policies and as a Lecturer in Human Rights at the Australian National University.

Alex is a PhD candidate at the Australian National University’s School of Regulation and Global Governance. He holds a Master’s degree in Public Economics, Law, and Politics and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations.
